The simpliest job of getting your first house is opening your first door for the first time...or so we thought.
We were promised by our landlady (who shall remain nameless for her own safety) that we would be each receiving our keys in the post on the 15th of September, with plans made to move in on the 17th, 18th, and 19th. The 17th of September came, with no keys, and no contact with our landlord. We finally got hold of her at 5pm on the 17th and told her that we had no keys.
In the same day, she told us all:
-To Vanessa that the keys were being posted the next day, and when Vanessa said not to post hers and that she would pick it up from her directy instead she then told her that they had already been posted.
-To Kim that they would be posted out on the Friday.
-To Beki that the keys had been sent, and then said that they wern't being sent until Saturday.
And from this we took our first lesson about student housing - never trust a landlords organisation skills.
